Etymology
[Scot. pratty and ill-pretty tricky : cf. Orm. nis he nohht hinnderrȝæp ne pratt. In Prompt. Parv. praty elegans, formosus. Icel. prettugr, prettóttr deceitful, tricky; pretta to deceive. Perhaps of Celtic origin. Cf. Cornish prat an act or deed, a cunning trick.]
