p. slang, pl. slungon To wind, twist, worm, move as a serpent. Cf. sling to move quickly, Var. dial. It also has the same meaning as slinch (slink). Halliwell's Dict. Gif heó (the adder] ðæt heáfod innan ðone man bestingþ ðonne slingþ ( = slincþ ?) heó mid ealle inn if it strikes its head into the man, then it winds itself quite in. Boutr. Scrd. 20, 15. [O. H.
